Blankenburg

Our two holiday houses are in the centre of Blankenburg, a quiet and "dreamy" health resort. We have rented our first holiday house (Bergstr. 6) since 1994 and our second holiday house (Berstr. 18) since 2001.

Our two holiday houses are situated at the foot of a 305 m high lime stone mountain, called "shining stone". The "Great Castle" is enthroned on this mountain with simple elegance. The "Herbergsmuseum" is located in direct neighbourhood of the holiday houses, in which travelling craftsmen take lodging still today. You can relax and recover in the flair of the old town. The "Small Castle" with its baroque terrace garden and several graceful sandstone figures, the 16th century city hall, the monastery "Michaelstein" as well as many other attractions are in direct proximity.

Blankenburg is located next to the "Street of Romanesque". Numerous romantic footpaths tempt to extensive walks. Deeply breath the healthy and pleasant air of the Harz mountains and relax from the stress of everyday life. Comfortable cafès and restaurants invite you to linger and enjoy.

Because of the geographical central situation, Blankenburg is an outstanding starting point for day trips. You can reach quickly and comfortably the surrounding places in the Harz mountains.
